Zhaoxin Zhang, Jianzheng Wang Collide in Rematch For WBC Regional

Two of China’s, and Asia’s top regional cruiserweight pugilists, will clash for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council 200 pound championship title on the Zhongji Sports promoted boxing event in Shaoxing, China, on Saturday, December 26.

The much-anticipated matchup between Zhaoxin Zhang and Jianzheng Wang is a rematch from their first encounter which took place last November in Fuzhou — ending in a first TKO victory for Wang. Zhang is back looking to redeem himself in this revenge or repeat showdown.

25-year Zhang, holding a professional record of nine wins, one loss and a draw, will be looking to continue his good reform form having gone on a four fight winning streak since his last loss to Zulipikaer Maimaitiali in January of last year.

For ang, at 33-years of age, this is his shot at redemption, proof to himself that he can overcome the challenge of Zhang, to become WBC Asia cruiserweight champion and show that the loss to Zhang last year was just a bump in the road to success.

The showdown in Shaoxing is set for Boxing Day. May the best man win.

IN OTHER NEWS: Yuliahn ‘Cobrita’ Luna, became a two division champion last October, winning the bantamweight title of the World Boxing Council, by offering a brilliant exhibition in Cancun, Quintana Roo; at the launch of the novel concept ‘The TUDN Temple.’

Luna has built a professional record of 20 wins, including 3 knockouts, in exchange for 3 setbacks and a draw.  She beat triple world champion Mariana Juárez by way of points in a superb duel where the two best in the division were face to face and fought accordingly.

Luna is with Promociones del Pueblo, and assured that in her plan is a rematch with Juarez to underline her recent victory and thus give her the shine plus gleam on the crown she had longed for since she first donned the gloves in the professional arena.

At 26 years old, the champion assured that none of her achievements would be possible without the tutelage of her father and coach Julio Luna, in addition to the advice of her mentor, triple world champion Cristian Mijares. They have been a fundamental part of her growth and development as a professional boxer.
