Highlights: Garcia knocks out Campbell on vicious body shot

Fighting

Ryan Garcia’s 2021 is off to the right start, and so is boxing’s.

Today’s card from Dallas not only saw Garcia knock out Luke Campbell in the seventh round of a terrific main event, but some great action on the undercard, too, with Roger Gutierrez dramatically beating Rene Alvarado for a WBA title at 130, and Felix Alvarado retaining the IBF title at 108 with a stoppage win over DeeJay Kriel.

But the day obviously belongs to the 22-year-old Garcia (21-0, 18 KO), whose win fully establishes him as a legitimate lightweight contender, puts him in line to face WBC titlist Devin Haney, and could set up a fight with Gervonta “Tank” Davis, which is what Garcia says he wants most.

If you missed today’s fight or just want to relive some of the best moments, here are the highlights:

Felix Alvarado floors DeeJay Kriel with a left hook in round two:

Raul Curiel drops Ramses Agaton with a body shot in the first round:
