Victory Sports and Entertainment frontman Mike Leanardi has been at the forefront of midwest and west coast boxing for years. Emerging as an integral part of team Badou Jack, which is a role Leanardi still retains, the Chicago born manager has built a stable of fighters alongside business partner Rick Torres that includes an eclectic mix of future stars and established talents.
Heading up the pack is Shane Mosley Jr, who gets set to return to action in the coming months, live on DAZN, and Leanardi opened up about his charges.
He said, “Shane Jr is looking great, he’s working with Bones Adams now and they’ve been getting on really well. A lot of our team work with Larry Wade who is a world-class strength & conditioning coach and that’s been reflective in their performances. I’m really confident we can maneuver Shane into fighting for a world title in the next 12 months.
“In regards to the established talent, we have brought in quite a few names who we are keen to get going. The likes of Sena Agbeko, Haskell Rhodes, Tyrone Brunson, Sanjarabek Rakhmanov all have fights in the pipeline. These fighters have featured on the likes of ShoBox cards, Mayweather Promotions, and other well known promotions and networks, and VSE are committed to making it happen for them in 2021.
“Quatavious Cash was unlucky as he had a fight fall through that was due to be on a Top Rank card due to the opponent getting COVID-19, so he’ll be back in the new year and Sonny Fredrickson is now a promotional free agent. He’s fighting this weekend and is looking to get back in the mix with the top fighters at 140. Sonny is only young and still has a big future ahead of him.”
Alongside established professional, Leanardi guides some of boxing’s future stars which include Mathias Radcliffe and Jeremiah Milton. Leanardi discussed some of his younger acquisitions.
“Mathias Radcliffe is really highly thought of in Los Angeles. He’s still young and he’s holding his own in sparring with world champions already. I’m so impressed by his application and I’ve got really high hopes for him.
“Jeremiah Milton has been in camp with both Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois. He’s been superb with both of them and has caught the eye of a lot of very influential people. I expect him to sign a promotional deal in the near future with one of the world’s biggest promoters. He’s a standout star and I believe the boxing world will be talking about Jeremiah very very soon.”
