Kelly expecting toughest fight yet against Avanesyan

Fighting

With Josh Kelly (10-0-1, 6 KOs) set challenge David Avanesyan (26-3-1, 14 KOs) this Saturday for the European welterweight title on DAZN, Kelly tells RingTV that he’s studied the flaws in Avanesyan’s game and expects to take advantage of them when they meet inside the ring. And Kelly says if Avanesyan takes that personally it will only further play into his hands as emotions are best left outside the ring.

So looking ahead to his expectations for the fight, Kelly continues by saying that he believes he’s going to get Avanesyan to walk into punches, expecting that Avanesyan will try to apply a lot of pressure.

“I think David will walk into some shots and feel ‘I can’t keep pressing him like this.’ If he does, it’s better for me because I’ve trained for the highest pressure fight of my career. I’m ready for the pressure, so I have everything in my armor to beat David on Saturday and look spectacular doing it.”

Kelly would additionally say that he’s been preparing for the most grueling fight of his career this Saturday but as confident as he is, he believes he’ll ultimately come out on top which will set up a fight against Conor Benn. But before Kelly can get to that, he’ll first have to focus on the task at hand.
