Jamel Herring’s constantly moving WBO junior lightweight title defense against Carl Frampton has a new date.
The Herring-Frampton fight, which was supposed to happen Saturday in Great Britain, will now take place April 3 in Dubai, it was announced Wednesday.
The fight was postponed last week because of a hand injury to Frampton (28-2, 16 KOs).
This will be the third title defense for Herring (22-2, 10 KOs). He has won his past six fights.
Frampton is the former IBF and WBA super bantamweight titlist and WBA featherweight titlist.
The Herring-Frampton fight was originally proposed for November, but those plans were scuttled when Herring suffered injuries to his right eye in a win against Jonathan Oquendo. It was then moved to January, but COVID-19 issues scrapped that option.
