Austrian middleweight Marcos Nader (22-1-1) is now ready for another attempt to reach the top in professional boxing and faces German Alexander Pavlov (11-1) a defense of the IBF International title.
Nader was a young prospect with Team Sauerland when he turned pro in 2009. However, while promising he couldn’t quite make it and after tough fights against the likes of Roberto Santos and Emanuele Blendamura Nader returned to the amateurs and World Series of Boxing.
In 2018, Marcos came back in professional boxing and won the national title and in 2019 the IBF subtitle he’s now to defend.
EC Boxing’s gym show went ahead last night (March 13) in Hamburg. In the main event Ali Eren Demirezen (14-1) won the vacant WBO Euro heavyweight title with a second round stoppage of stablemate Nikola Milalic (21-2), who came in at very short notice when Pole Jacek Piatek was taken into custody by German police after a routine control had revealed that Piatek had some unpaid fines.
On the undercard big Ukrainian heavyweight Victor Faust (6-0) outscored Venezuelan Wilfred Vazquez (11-1-2) over eight, and yes, they do compare him with Wladimir Klitschko and he does resemble the former champ a bit – if he can fight like him is still an open question of course.
Another heavyweight, Michael Wallisch (22-4) came in 18 kilos / 36 lbs lighter than he did when he fought against Joe Joyce and stopped South African Knife Didier / Didier Kilola (6-6) in the sixth.
