Boxing TV schedule for July 8-10

Fighting

ESPN+, 5:00 am ET, Tim Tszyu vs Steve Spark. Finally, someone in the States gets into the Tim Tszyu business again. I mean, look, is this really a good matchup for supposed emerging top contender Tszyu? No! It isn’t! Let’s be honest about it! It wasn’t when it was Michael Zerafa, either. Tszyu should really be looking to do more than this. Then again there are still travel restrictions and issues in various places and Australia just went under a new COVID lockdown, too, so a lot of things aren’t ideal yet and at the very least Tszyu is staying active and fighting. We’ll be here, bright and early. Bad Left Hook will have live coverage.

DAZN, 4:00 pm ET, Zurdo vs Barrera press conference.

DAZN, 4:00 pm ET, Zurdo vs Barrera weigh-in.

DAZN, 8:00 pm ET, Zurdo Ramirez vs Sullivan Barrera, Joseph Diaz Jr vs Javier Fortuna, Tenkai Tsunami vs Seniesa Estrada, Hector Tanajara Jr vs William Zepeda. Quality card here from Golden Boy, with Zurdo making his debut with the company, Diaz-Fortuna effectively a WBC eliminator at 135, Tsunami-Estrada for Tsunami’s 108 lb belt, and Tanajara-Zepeda a meeting of unbeaten lightweights who want to prove they belong. Bad Left Hook will have live coverage

SHO, 8:30 pm ET, All Access: Charlo-Castano.

FITE PPV, 6:00 am ET, Sam Soliman vs Victor Nagbe. Not really sure why anyone would be dying to have access to the fight between the 47-year-old Soliman and Nagbe, a 27-year-old three-fight novice, but it’s there for you if you want it, and at the cool, cool price of $19.99.

ESPN+, 10:00 am ET, Tursynbay Kulakhmet vs Stanyslav Shorokhod, Sultan Zaurbek vs Ronnie Clark. There will be other fights. It’s an MTK show from Kazakhstan. If you’ve seen one, you know what they are.

BT Sport 1 (UK), 2:00 pm ET, Lyndon Arthur vs Davide Faraci, Anthony Yarde vs TBA, Zach Parker vs Sherzod Khusanov, Archie Sharp vs Diego Andrade Chavez. Not so quality card here from Queensberry, as Arthur and Yarde are taking what should be tune-ups before possibly rematching each other later this year. Actually not super clear if Yarde will fight at all; he was supposed to face Emin Atra, but that’s not happening, and still doesn’t have an opponent listed. Not that replacing Emin Atra is that difficult a task. Parker is trying to cement his place in line to fight Canelo Alvarez someday, and Sharp also has a fight. If this winds up on FITE I might do coverage, if not I’m not giving myself a virus to watch Arthur-Faraci. No offense. Maybe some offense.
