In 2014, Wilder knocked out Scott in one round. They would later become close friends.
Earlier this year, Wilder named Scott as his new head trainer.
The dangerous puncher was scheduled to face WBC world champion Tyson Fury in a trilogy fight on July 24.
After Fury tested positive for COVID-19, the fight was pushed back to October 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
In the second contest, in February 2020, Wilder was dropped twice and stopped in the seventh round. Fury walked away with the WBC title and handed Wilder his first career defeat.
The first meeting took place in December 2018, with the boxers fighting to a controversial twelve round split draw at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Scott is very confident that Wilder will get his revenge in the third encounter.
“Well for one because I’m training him now. For two I’ve never seen him this hungry before, I’ve never seen him this receptive for the craft. And I’ve never seen him want to dismantle another man so bad,” Scott said.
Both Wilder and Fury have been inactive since last year’s rematch.
The COVID-19 pandemic prevented the possibility of the contest coming off in 2020.
And there was also a legal battle, with an arbitrator ordering Fury to honor a rematch clause due to Fury.
Despite the numerous delays, Scott is not concerned with the possibility of Wilder overtraining.
“Not at all. My only concern is that we are in this scenario with an admitted headcase. My only concern is is Fury NOT showing up,” Scott said.
