IBF super middleweight titleholder Caleb Plant is fully confirmed for his crack at Canelo Alvarez on November 6, and the 29-year-old was in the house to do some light promotion during last night’s Pacquiao-Ugas pay-per-view.
“November 6, it’s going down. The first undisputed super middleweight of all time, you’re looking at him, his name is Caleb Plant,” he said at ringside.
Asked how he would upset the odds and beat Canelo, Plant told Heidi Androl, “I just gotta go out there and be myself. I feel like I’ve got every tool in the bag to make that happen. My downfall would be going out there and doing anything but being myself.”
Plant (21-0, 12 KO) will be a major underdog against Alvarez (56-1-2, 38 KO), who holds the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles. He won the WBC and WBA in his victory over Callum Smith last December, a dominant win, and smashed Billy Joe Saunders’ face to add the WBO belt in May.
