Triller has released the music lineup for “Triller Fight Club: Legends II,” the September 11th entertainment extravaganza headlined by a boxing match between 48-year-old Oscar De La Hoya (39-6, 30 KO) and 44-year-old Vitor Belfort (26-14 MMA, 1-0 Boxing).
The music portion will be hosted by Triller regular and part-owner Snoop Dogg. And, for anyone that thought a showcase fight between a boxer who hasn’t fought in 13 years and an MMA fighter with one professional boxing match on his record was already scraping rock bottom? Well, Triller seems to have found a shovel and dug another six feet lower, as Snoop Dogg will be performing with Motown legend and 37-year-decedent Marvin Gaye.
Gaye is, of course, a music legend and inductee of the Rock and Roll, R&B, and Songwriters Halls of Fame. Among his lengthy list of hit songs are “Let’s Get It On,” “Sexual Healing,” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” Gaye was also famously shot to death by his father in 1984.
A traditional duet would seem impossible, and no further details were shared on the nature of the how Snoop Dogg and Marvin Gaye will perform together. Will it feature a hologram Marvin? A posthumous vocal-only duet like Natalie and Nat King Cole? Perhaps Snoop will appear dressed in a California Raisins costume?
We will all just have to tune in and see for ourselves on September 11th.
Also on the music lineup for the show are:
- Anitta, “Brazil’s most famous popstar”
- Lunay, “Puerto Rico’s chart-topping next generation reggaeton star”
- Gente de Zona, “the multi-Grammy award-winning Cuban reggaetón duo, Alexander Delgado and Randy Malcolm” who will lead off the show “with a medley of their greatest hits”
Tickets start at $75, and the US PPV will cost you $49.99.
