Score cards: How judges got to Paul-Woodley split decision

Fighting

If you were curious as to how exactly the judges saw Jake Paul’s split decision win over Tyron Woodley tonight, here’s a look at the official cards from Jamie Garayua, Phil Rogers, and Dana DePaolo:

All three judges gave Paul the first and second rounds, and all three judges gave Woodley the fourth, which is the round where he hurt Jake. But other than that, no round was unanimous on any card.

It also has to be said that with Ohio not exactly being a hotbed for major league boxing events, and this fight not being associated with any sanctioning body, we were dealing with inexperienced officials, not true world class, experienced judges or referees on the show.

Still, I don’t think there’s controversy here, other than Phil Rogers scoring the fight for Woodley, which to me is wild. I thought Tyron won one round clear, had an argument in two more, and that’s about it. Giving him five rounds, I can’t see it.
