Robin Krasniqi vs. Dominic Boesel Rematch on October 9, Magdeburg

Boxing Scene

SES has just announced that Robin Krasniqi (51-6) and Dominic Boesel (30-2) will do it again October 9 at the Getec Arena in Magdeburg, Germany.

Krasnigi won their first round encounter with a stunning knockout of Boesel to win the IBO and WBA interim light heavyweight titles last October 10, also in Magdeburg.

The ending was a bit controversial as Krasniq landed with a right and Boesel went down – but the referee ruled a slip and waved the fight on as soon as the defending champion was on his feet.

However, Boesel was visibly hurt and was caught by a big right and went down and out with the referee waving the fight off without counting. Had Boesel received the mandatory eight count after “the slip” he might have recovered.

Krasniqi hasn’t fought since while Boesel returned in May in Slovenia with a points win over Czech journeyman Ondrej Budera.

The WBA Interim title is now gone but the IBO crown remains.

IN OTHER NEWS: Former world title-challenger Shefat Isufi convincingly beat Tomas Adamek on Saturday night, September 4, to win the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental Light Heavyweight title at the Hansehalle in Luebeck, Germany.

Germany´s Isufi dropped Adamek in rounds five and ten, but the tough Czech survived the counts of referee Dominic Kuhaupt both times, and never stopped trying his best.

But after ten rounds of boxing, there was no doubt at all that Isufi had won clearly. The judges scores were 99-90, 98-91 and 98-90.

Isufi improved his professional record to 32-4-2 (23). Adamek is now 29-20-2 (10).

The new Intercontinental champion called out WBF World Light Heavyweight Champion Tim Robin Lihaug from Norway immediately after the fight.

The fight headlined a show promoted by former Heavyweight contender Alexander Petkovic.
