Josh Kelly and Nathan Gorman sign with Wasserman Boxing

Wasserman Boxing has added more talent to its roster, announcing the signings of Josh Kelly, Nathan Gorman, and Harlem Eubank. Wasserman, a sports management entity based in Los Angeles, acquired Team Sauerland earlier this year and together formed Wasserman Boxing. This trio of signings join a stable featuring Chris Eubank Jr, Mairis Briedis, and Filip Hrgovic.

Formerly promoted by Matchroom Boxing, Josh Kelly was considered a hot welterweight prospect until a string of poor results took a bit of the shine off his star. He scored a controversial draw against journeyman Ray Robinson in 2019, sat out for over a year (including all of 2020), and most recently suffered a brutal loss to David Avanesyan.

Nathan Gorman is also something of a reclamation project, fighting much of his career as a domestic-level heavyweight prospect with Frank Warren’s Queensberry promotions. He was matched tough in his 17th fight against fellow undefeated prospect Daniel Dubois, and was knocked out in the 5th round. Gorman then sat out for over a year before returning with victories over Richard Lartey and Pavel Sour in late 2020 and early 2021.

Harlem Eubank is the least-known of the three new signings, but the name value for the nephew of Chris Eubank as well as the promotional backing of Wasserman should provide him with every opportunity to succeed in the business. However, at 27 years old and only 11 fights into his professional career, time may be getting tight.

Taken together, these are solid enough additions to what figures to be a growing stable in the next several years, but none of the names so far appear to be surefire future stars.
