MORE RESULTS TO COME…………….
In the Trillerverz 4 opener at Hammerstein Ballroom, Jersey City’s Joe Jones halted Junior Wright in the second round of a scheduled six.
Both fought at a measured pace for much of the first round, but at the 10-second buzzer, Jones dropped Wright with a picture perfect right hand. Wright rose but the bell stopped Jones from following up. As soon as the second began, though, Jones got back at it and after hurting Wright with a left hook, another right produced a second knockdown. This time, referee David Fields didn’t even count, waving the bout off 13 seconds into round two.
Jones moves to 13-4 with 10 KOs. Wright falls to 18-4-1 with 15 KOs.
