After more than two years of not being in action on home soil, Pedro Guevara will once again get into the ring in Mazatlán on December 30, as part of BC Promotions card.
The former WBC junior flyweight world champion will face Mochiteco’s Jesús Fierro (7-2-1) in a ten round fight, hoping that a another victory will put him back on the radar to fight for a world title.
Guevara last fought in Mazatlán back on July 20, 2019, when he defeated the Puerto Rican Janiel Rivera at the Multiple Use Center.
The Mexican fighter will want to secure his 39th triumph to further rise in the super flyweight division, where he already accumulated several victories, and there are high-profile opponents such as Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada, Jerwin Ancajas, Kazuto Ioka and Román “Chocolatito” González.
Guevara has won eight fights in a row, with this being his third bout of 2021. He holds a respectable record of 38 wins, 3 defeats, one draw and 22 wins by knockout.
Other fighters who will be present on the card include Abel Cruz, Luis Arteche and Jesús “Balita” López, as well as the Cuban Dariel Duquense.
Back in September, Guevara defeated Marlon Ríos by unanimous decision over eight rounds in Cuernavaca, and in July he defeated Samuel Gutiérrez by TKO in Acuña, Coahuila.
