Boxing Scene

T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas – WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) outboxed Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) in the performance of his life.

In a fight that many scored the majority of the round for Bivol, all three judges had it very close, with three identical cards of 115-113.

Canelo is still the undisputed champion at super middleweight. There is a rematch clause that Canelo can exercise.

A rematch may happen in the fall, with the planned September trilogy bout against Gennadiy Golovkin now in doubt.
