Fifteen current and former Mexican fighters got together to teach the largest boxing class ever at the Zocalo, the main square in Mexico City on Saturday.

Erik “El Terrible” Morales, Andy Ruiz Jr., Oscar Valdez, Jackie Nava, Humberto “Chiquita” González, Miguel Berchelt, Jose “Pipino” Cuevas, Alfonso Zamora, Jose Luis Bueno, Jose Antonio “Jaguar” Aguirre, Ganigan Lopez, Adrian “Confesor” Hernandez, Mariana Juarez, Ana Maria Torres and Alan David Picasso were the instructors in the mega boxing class organized by the Sports Institute (Indeporte) of Mexico City.

The event broke the Guinness World Record for the largest boxing class in the world with 14,299 attendees. The previous record was held by Moscow, Russia, as it held a mega boxing class with 3,250 participants in Red Square.

The participants wore T-shirts with the Mexican flag colors to cover the entire square in green, white and red.

Javier Hidalgo Ponce, director of Indeporte, presented the shirts just a couple of weeks ago.

“It will be a great multicolored party because together we will form the Mexican flag with these beautiful shirts that each and every one of the participants in the Massive Boxing Class will have,” Hidalgo said on June 3.

The class lasted 30 minutes, with just two 20-second hydration breaks.
