Professional boxing is back in Puerto Rico, with a card being staged by Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment, according to Giovanny Vega.

Both companies will present another chapter of Boxeo Al Máximo Internacional series on July 6, to be held this time at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar hotel in Río Grande.

The card will feature the eighth ranked World Boxing Organization (WBO) 126-pound fighter, Bryan ‘Chary’ Chevalier (16-1-1 and 12 KO’s) against Colombian contender Carlos Padilla (17-11-1, 11 KOs). The fight will be fought over eight rounds.

There will also be active junior welterweight Jean Carlos ‘Lobo’ Torres (19-1, 15 KO’s), who will return to the ring to face Uruguayan fighter Andrés ‘Pitufo’ Viera (11-5, 8 KO’s) in a fight over ten rounds.

Guayabo’s Harold Laguna (4-0 and 4 KO’s) and Christian Soto (3-0 and 2 KO’s) from Arecibo will also be on the bill.

For his part, lightweight contender Jonathan ‘Chuleta’ Irizarry (4-1, 4 KO’s) will face experienced Colombian Daulis Presscott (32-16, 24 KOs) over six rounds at 135 pounds.

Lastly, Jan Pomales (2-0 and 2 KO’s) will face Juan Montañez in a four-round brawl in the featherweight division.

“We are very happy and excited about the alliance that we have established with the Econo Supermarkets chain and that they gave us the opportunity to hold the first professional boxing event in Puerto Rico at their 2022 Family Meeting is a great honor,” Miguel Cotto said in a statement. “Without a doubt, boxing is back and big in Puerto Rico.”
