Isaac Dogboe-Joet Gonzalez: Weigh-In Results From Hinckley, Minnesota

Boxing Scene

Isaac Dogboe needed a second try Friday to make weight for a fight he hopes earns him a third shot at Emmanuel Navarrete.

Once Dogboe removed his socks, he officially weighed in at 125.8 pounds for his 12-round, 126-pound fight against Joet Gonzalez on Saturday night in Hinckley, Minnesota. Gonzalez weighed 125.6 pounds on his first attempt for a main event ESPN+ will stream from Grand Casino Hinckley.

Ghana’s Dogboe (23-2, 15 KOs) will square off against Gonzalez (25-2, 15 KOs), of Glendora, California, in a WBO elimination match to determine that sanctioning organization’s mandatory challenger for Navarrete’s 126-pound crown.

Mexico’s Navarrete (35-1, 29 KOs) has beaten both Dogboe and Gonzalez in recent years.

Navarrete upset Dogboe by unanimous decision to win the WBO junior featherweight title in December 2018. He stopped Dogboe in the 12th round of their immediate rematch in May 2019.

Navarrete later moved up to the featherweight division, in which he defended his title against Gonzalez last October 15 at Pechanga Arena in San Diego. Gonzalez suffered cuts across his face and severe swelling beneath his right eye, but he made their entertaining 12-round contest competitive on his way to losing a unanimous decision.

Below are the official weights for the 10 fights on the Dogboe-Gonzalez undercard. Coverage on ESPN+ is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. ET.
