John Fury: Tommy Will Knock Jake Paul Out With First Right Hand That Lands

Boxing Scene

John Fury, father and trainer of light heavyweight prospect Tommy Fury, has ripped into Jake Paul (6-0, 4 KOs).

Paul returned on Saturday in Arizona, where he dropped and decisioned MMA legend Anderson Silva.

On two occasions, Paul was scheduled to face Fury in the ring.

Last year, Fury withdrew with a rib injury suffered in training camp. The fight was then booked for this past August, with Fury once again forced to withdraw after stating that he was denied entry into the United States.

On both occasions, Paul accused Fury of creating excuses to avoid suffering his first career defeat.

Fury (8-0, 4 KOs), the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, is set to return on November 13 against Paul Bamba (5-2, 4 KOs), which is going to co-headline the event topped by Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition with Youtuber Deji in Dubai.

In the aftermath of his recent win, Paul called for a showdown with another MMA veteran, Nate Diaz, who was sitting ringside in the venue. Diaz and members of his entourage were involved in a scuffle with Paul’s team backstage.

Tommy Fury is also another frontrunner option for Paul’s next fight.

John Fury is confidently backing his son Tommy to knock Paul out – if the two fighters ever meet in the ring.

The elder Fury ridiculed Paul for facing Silva.

“If any of my sons was fifty years old and doing that, I’d say ‘Listen, have a day off, give your head a wobble,’” Fury Sr. said.

“Alls you’re going to do is make a fool of yourself and entertainment for other people. You’re making the other man that’s useless look good.’ Jake Paul can’t fight. [Tommy] will knock Jake Paul out with one punch. And I’ll say it now on camera: Jake Paul will get knocked out with the first right hand that he throws, and I’ll put money on it.

“This man [Paul Bamba that Tommy] is fighting here [in Dubai], at least he’s a proper fighter. He trains as a boxer. All he’s fighting, he’s had seven pro fights against proper opposition. Not some hand-picked geriatric that needs a Zimmer frame [walker] to get in the ring.”
