Christian Mbili vs. Vaughn Alexander on December 17 at XXL Arena in France

French super middleweight Christian Mbili (22-0) meets American Vaughn Alexander (17-6-1) in a scheduled ten-rounder on December 17 at the XXL Arena in Nantes (France). Mbili is ranked # 2 by the WBC.

Welterweight Souleymane Cissokho (15-0) is in against South African Thulani Mbenge (19-1) in the co-feature and it will be with a title at stake.

“We’re getting closer and closer to a world championship fight so it’s very motivating. Alexander is a quality opponent who is not to be taken lightly. I know that I have no room for mistakes. The French public will be entitled to a war in the ring of Hall XXL,” notes Mbilli.

Croatian Agron Smakici is now the co-challenger along with Agit Kabayel for the vacant EBU heavyweight title.

Smakici (19-1) suffered his only loss to Zhan Kossobutskyi in what can be described as a Universum “eliminator”. He has since won four straight but against weak opponents.

Kabayel (22-0 or 24-2 depending on how you count) has fought once a year since 2018 and crushed Czech Pavel Sour in the first round in his sole fight during 2022.

The EBU has set December 1 as the deadline for purse bids.

Swedish light heavyweight Constantino Nanga moved to 6-0 Saturday night in Elche (Spain) when knocked out Panamanian Manuel Largache in the first round.

All of Nanga’s win has come by way of KO or TKO and while it’s early days yet Constantino looks like a genuine prospect.

German Andreas Schneiders has passed away at the age of 55. Cause of death was according to the police suicide, reports DPA.

Schneiders won a bronze medal in the 1991 European championships and won the German championships six times at super heavyweight. He never turned pro.
