Boxing Scene

Washington, DC – Big-time boxing returned to the Nation’s Capital as Beltway Battles: Round Three took center stage at the city’s Entertainment & Sports Arena with an exciting nine-card showcased by an explosive first-round KO win by Greg “Sharp Shooter” Outlaw (11-1, 6 KOs) in the main event.

While local fan favorite Dusty Hernandez-Harrison didn’t make his long-awaited return to headline the show, the evening dedicated to his father, respected trainer, Old School Boxing Gym owner and community advocate, Buddy Harrison, was not diminished with the sweet science delivering entertaining fights.

Popular Glenarden, Md. lightweight Outlaw made short work of Wilfrido Buelvas (22-16, 16 KOs) of Barranquilla, Colombia in their rematch, while a heavyweight showdown between power punchers, Baltimore’s Malik Titus (8-0, 8 KOs) and Christopher Long (5-2, 5 KOs) of Fredericksburg, Va., didn’t disappoint with Titus dropping his opponent in the waning minutes of the last round via TKO (RD6 2:49).

Four other Charm City fighters were victorious including top prospect Domnique Crowder improving to 13-0 by defeating John Mark Alimana (8-2, 4 KOs) of Manilla, Philippines by TKO (RD4 0:49). Tyrell Boyd (8-0, 8 KOs) and Deshawn Chase (2-0, 1 KO) remained undefeated, while Mack “Papi” Allison (15-3-1, 10 KOs) won by UD (3x 60-54) over Jonathan Perez (40-33, 32 KOs) of Barranquilla, Colombia.

The appropriately nicknamed Ian “Dancer” Cokley (6-1, 3 KOs) from Oxon Hill, Md. and representing Old School Boxing, needed just two rounds to take out Zack Kuhn (10-12-1, 5 K0s). Maryland’s Sulaiman Segawa (14-3-1, 5 KOs) delivered a fight-ending body blow against Ernesto Guerreo for his 14th win.
