Photos: Julio Cesar Martinez Decisions Samuel Carmona, Retains WBC Title

The scores were 114-114, 117-111 and 116-112.

Carmona was boxing well and landing quick, accurate punches on Martinez in the first two rounds. The movement of Carmona was giving Martinez some trouble, but he was pressing and trying to make it a fight.

In the third, Martinez was having more success by going to the body at times to slow Carmona down. Carmona was blocking a lot of the wild punches from Martinez. The quicker punches of Carmona continued to frustrate Martinez during the fourth.

During the fifth, the pace slowed down with Carmona boxing and jabbing the bigger punching Martinez. During the sixth, Martinez was pressing forward and throwing a lot of punches in bunches. He was applying a lot of pressure on Carmona and going to the body to slow him down. 

Martinez was jabbing a lot in the seventh, Carmona was jabbing back and landing quick shots. Martinez continued to pressure and target the body. The eight saw Carmona landing punches, but he was moving around too much and Martinez was pressing and throwing power shots. In the ninth, it was more of the same with Carmona seeming to have some hand injury with his right, so he was mostly moving as Martinez was pressing and throwing.

During the tenth, Carmona was not moving as much and started to throw a little more, but Martinez was busier and landing more. In the eleventh, both had their moments, but it was Martinez landing the more eye-catching shots. The twelfth was more of the same, with both having moments. Carmona was now standing in the pocket and landing more punches on what seemed to be a tired Martinez.
