Ahead of this weekend’s big main event between Canelo Alvarez and Jaime Munguia, PBC releases its first episode of PBC Gloves Off, taking a behind the scenes look at the respective fighters heading into the PPV event.

Training camp has long been underway at this stage, and at the elite level where every part of preparation plays a role in how the outcome is determined, Canelo explains how he jolts his body by starting his mornings by going from a hot tub straight into a cold bath.

“In the bed you wake up very comfortable, warm, right?” Canelo asks. “You want to be different, you need to start different. [Freezing] gets you out of your comfortable zone, you start the day like a million percent.”

Later we take a look at Jaime Munguia who’s operating his camp out of Los Angeles. And while Munguia knows he’s not the stardom level of Canelo, he’s aware this is a great opportunity to catapult himself.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to make a name for myself and start a great legacy,” Munguia says. “Well, obviously not just any fighter gets here, in the position I’m in. Canelo is a good a fighter, he’s a very complete fighter and I think he’s dangerous for anyone just like I’m dangerous for anyone.”
