A week before cousin Tyson battles Oleksandr Usyk for undisputed heavyweight glory, Hughie Fury will have his second bout in under a month on Boxxer’s May 11th McCaskill vs Price show.
Fury (27-3, 15 KO), who’s still just 29, just beat 10-15-1 Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko in his first bout since 2021. He faces a similarly nonexistent challenge in Germany’s Patrick Korte (21-3-1, 18 KO); though the 40-year-old “Big Patrick” has eyes that stare directly into my soul from that poster, his record is hollow.
Other bouts of note include unbeaten 24-year-old featherweight Rhys Edwards’ (15-0, 4 KO) clash with Thomas Patrick Ward (34-1-1, 5 KO). This marks Ward’s second fight since getting routed by Otabek Kholmatov last year, which is plenty forgivable in the grand scheme of things, while Edwards is coming off a decision over Brad Foster.
Light heavyweight Lewis Edmonson (8-0, 3 KO) will also be in action in a grievous mismatch against Joel McIntyre (20-8, 5 KO).
