Davies, Heaney, Cameron highlight July 20 Magnificent Seven show

Fighting

Another day, another Queensberry show called “The Magnificent Seven.” Frank Warren announced today that the latest installment will land at Resorts World Casino in Birmingham on July 20th.

Rising super bantamweight Liam Davies (16-0, 8 KO) gets the spotlight this time after an impressive two-round mauling of Erik Robles Ayala, battling fellow unbeaten Shabaz Masoud (12-0, 4 KO). 38 pounds north, Nathan Heaney (18-0-1, 6 KO) and Brad Pauls (18-1-1, 10 KO) run back their terrific slugfest, while heavyweight Solomon Dacres (8-0, 2 KO) finally gets a crack at David Adeleye (12-1, 11 KO) now that the latter’s suspension is up.

The newly signed Chantelle Cameron (18-1, 8 KO) makes her promotional debut against Elhem Mekhaled (16-2, 3 KO), who gave a decent account of herself against Alycia Baumgardner last year but will be fighting 10 pounds higher this time. Elsewhere on the card, Ashley Lane (18-10-2, 3 KO) defends the British and Commonwealth bantamweight titles against Andrew Cain (11-1, 10 KO) and former British welterweight champ Ekow Essuman (19-1, 7 KO) looks to get back on track against Owen Cooper (10-0, 4 KO) after falling to Harry Scarff last November.

Light heavyweight Ezra Taylor (8-0, 6 KO) rounds out the lineup against TBA.

It’s presently running unopposed in the afternoon slot before Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson. Like last time: not “magnificent” by any means, but definitely decent.
