Add one more dispute to the ongoing saga of the Ryan Garcia-Devin Haney fight.

Hours after both Garcia and Haney questioned where their earnings from the bout are, Golden Boy Promotions shot back with a written response accompanied by a backhanded slap at the fighters’ social media work.

Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs), who knocked down WBC 140-pound champion Haney (31-1, 15 KOs) three times on April 20 to prevail with a surprise majority decision victory at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, first stirred the chatter by posting this on X:

“Still no payment, GBP [Golden Boy Promotions] and DAZN?”

An hour later, Haney replied on X: “Same.”

That provoked a formal written response sent to reporters from Golden Boy’s publicists, Jane Murcia and Stefan Friedman.

“As we have always done with all our fighters, Golden Boy paid Ryan and Devin exactly what they are owed under their contracts. As with all PPV events, revenue comes in over time and additional payments will be made when more money is received,” the statement attributed generally to Golden Boy Promotions read.

“If they aren’t aware of this fact, we would hope their managers are. Or perhaps Ryan and Devin should pay more attention to their contracts than their social media feeds.”

Questioning pay might be a sore subject to Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions after four-division champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez undressed De La Hoya in a blistering news conference diatribe, during which he accused the promoter of slow-paying Alvarez following his attorneys’ involvement and asking if he had yet paid Alvarez’s former opponent, Gennady Golovkin.

De La Hoya said he had.

Meanwhile, Garcia, 25, has much on his mind as well.

He followed being more than three pounds overweight for the Haney bout – ruining his chance to win Haney’s WBC belt – by submitting two positive pre-fight and “B” sample tests for the banned performance-enhancing substance ostarine.

The New York State Athletic Commission will decide Garcia’s fate – with a lengthy suspension, large fine and changing Garcia’s victory to a no-contest all on the table.

Garcia’s manager, Guadalupe Valencia, did not immediately respond to BoxingScene after receiving a copy of the Golden Boy letter.
