MVP announced that Most Valuable Prospects 8 will take place on Friday, September 6, at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, FL, and will be available globally on DAZN. The event is promoted by Boxlab Promotions.

The main card features a 10-round junior welterweight bout between Kevin Brown (5-0, 3 KOs) and John Bauza (18-1, 8 KOs) for the WBA Junior Welterweight Continental Americas title. Brown, the current WBA Continental Champion, is ranked #14 by the WBA and trains in Las Vegas under Ismael Salas.

John Bauza, from Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, trains in North Bergen, NJ, and is excited about the title opportunity. Bauza aims to leverage his greater professional experience to claim the title and advance his career.

The co-main event will feature 17-year-old Javon “Wanna” Walton (1-0-1, 1 KO), who is seeking his second professional win. Walton, also a well-known actor, signed with MVP in July 2023 and trains under his father, DJ Walton.

MVP co-founders Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul expressed enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the talent of the young prospects featured on the card.

“Our upcoming Most Valuable Prospects 8 card will feature some of the top young prospects in the game who are ready to prove they belong on the big stage, and we can’t wait for fans to witness the talent they bring to the ring on Friday, September 6,” said Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of MVP.

“Kevin Brown’s rapid rise in the super lightweight division has been incredible, and John Bauza’s experience and determination will make for an exciting matchup in this battle of Cuba vs. Puerto Rico. We’re equally excited to see Wanna Walton, whose talent and dedication have already made him a standout in both boxing and acting, step back into the ring to show the world what he can do. Ultimately, we are looking to grow these top prospects into stars on the biggest stages, as exemplified by Most Valuable Prospects veterans Tony Aguilar and Corey Marksman, who tonight make their pay-per-view debuts on MVP’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry card. Friday, September 6 continues our mission to identify these rising stars. Thank you to Boxlab Promotions, DAZN and CELSIUS for their dedication to bringing another incredible night of boxing to Orlando, and we look forward to unveiling the rest of this exciting card soon.”

“Kevin has been training relentlessly, and we believe he will come out victorious,” stated Amaury Piedra, managing director of Caribe Royale and President of Boxlab Promotions, who co-promotes Kevin Brown with Warriors Boxing. “This is a great chance for him to show how skilled and determined he is in front of a big audience. We can’t wait to see him do an amazing job.”
