Shadasia Green rebounded from her lone career defeat, promising the best is yet to come.

Green, 34, of Paterson, New Jersey, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Natasha Spence, 39, of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, on the prelims of the Jake Paul-Mike Perry pay-per-view at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The victory follows her December unanimous decision loss to Franchon Crews-Dezurn in a ten-round bout for the vacant WBC super middleweight title.

Green (13-1, 11 KOs) was critical of her performance despite the win.

“I grade myself a C+, B,” Green said. “I was in there picking her apart, having fun.”

Reflecting on her journey since her loss, Green emphasized the importance of her support system as she continues to chase her dreams in the sport, while reflecting on how important the win was for her.

“Absolutely, because I owe it to myself,” Green said. “You know, it’s not necessarily about redemption. It’s about the fact that I have such a great team behind me.”

During the fight, Green was dropped, a decision she disputed, attributing it to a slippery canvas rather than a significant punch.

“My god, that was absolutely no knockdown,” Green said. “[A sponsor sign in the ring] was wet. So, on the way down, she threw a jab. She knew it wasn’t a damn knockdown.”

Shadasia Green remains optimistic about her future, crediting those around her for the added motivation. Reflecting on her training camp, Green expressed gratitude for her team’s support.

“The stuff that they put me through, they prepared me for anything, and that’s why you were able to see me have fun,” Green said.
