Liam Paro will make a first defense of his IBF super lightweight title on Saturday, Dec. 7, as the Aussie returns to Puerto Rico to meet the challenge from Richardson Hitchins.
Paro (25-0, 15 KO) stunned many back in June, when he went to Manati and out-pointed Subriel Matias to take the belt in an upset. This fight will take place at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan.
Hitchins (18-0, 7 KO) is also coming off of the most notable win of his career, but his April victory over Gustavo Lemos came in less convincing fashion.
Paro, 28, will be looking to prove his win over Matias was no fluke or simple style matchup advantage, and the style matchup against the 27-year-old Hitchins couldn’t be more different than the Matias fight, either.
On the undercard, super featherweight Henry Lebron (19-0, 10 KO) will be in action, facing veteran Christopher Diaz (29-4, 19 KO) in a 10-round bout, and Yankiel Rivera, Marc Castro, and Jalil Hackett are among those already set for returns on the show.
