‘I don’t think people realize exactly what I bring’: Tszyu looking to prove ability against Murtazaliev

Fighting

Ahead of his weekend return to the ring following a bloody loss to Sebastian Fundora in March, Tim Tszyu talks to Fight Hype about his upcoming fight with Bakhram Murtazaliev and more. Check out some excerpts from Tszyu below.

Tszyu on what he thinks he’ll be able to show the public in his next fight

“I think from the outside looking in, I don’t think people realize exactly what I bring. They just see one aggressive, walk forward type so it’s all about showing them.”

On the cut he received in his fight with Fundora

“Like 15 stitches. It was a big cut…now it’s gone, took a bit of time to recover, you know. But I’m glad that I took the time off and let it heal properly. I don’t want this to be a menace for the rest of my career.”

On the influence his father has had on his career and training with him

“I think stylistically we learned a few things but it was just to reunite us as father and son. And I was picking his brain and going through his methods. It was cool.”

On Crawford vs Fundora

“I think Crawford’s got the better style. Fundora’s a bit slower so I think if Crawford’s speed is there he’ll be able to sort of pick him apart.”

On Tank vs Roach

“I haven’t actually seen Lamont Roach before but my prediction is Tank, man. I love his style. I love how patient, I just love the way he fights.”
