Serrano-Bermudez set for March 25 on Ring City USA

Fighting

As disappointing as it is that the Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano showdown never came off as expected, Serrano (39-1-1, 29 KO) will be back in the ring next month as she’s scheduled to face Daniela Bermudez (29-3-3, 10 KO) in a scheduled 10-rounder from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The fight will air on NBCSN’s “Ring City USA” series.

Serrano will have both WBC and WBO featherweights belts on the line in this outing after the WBC promoted Serrano to full titleholder after naming Jelena Mrdjenovich “champion emeritus.” Speaking on the impending fight, Serrano tells RingTV she’s preparing for an action-packed outing.

“I’m ready for another war between (fighters from) Puerto Rico and Argentina. In 2014, I won a lightweight world title in Argentina by defeating Maria Maderna. That could be motivation for Daniela.”

Serrano, 32, is most recently coming off a prompt stoppage win over Dahiana Santana this past December in the Dominican Republic, knocking her off in the first round of action. Meanwhile Bermudez, 31, has won her last two fights by stoppage, most recently knocking out Cintia Castillo in December as well.
