Parker wants Chisora next, then winner of Usyk-Joyce

Former heavyweight titleholder Joseph Parker will be back in action this weekend against fellow countryman Junior Fa, but tells Sky Sports that he has his eyes set on some bigger fights should come out victorious.

Parker says his handlers have a clear path laid out for him, including a prospective bout against Derek Chisora which he’d like to follow up with a shot against the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs Joe Joyce. But despite those plans, Parker says he’s still focused on Fa right now.

“There is a path and it’s quite exciting that there’s a path, because a lot of fighters want to know what they’re going to do after their next fight. But again, the focus is on Junior because if I don’t get past him, there’s no point even looking at those fights.”

With Parker keen on getting another shot at a world title it’s no wonder he’s looking ahead, but he’ll have to be sure not to get tripped up before by what’s right in front of him. Even still, Parker doesn’t seem all that threatened by Fa.

“No disrespect to Junior, he’s a top guy, but there are other guys out there who are more dangerous who I really want. I can’t get to them unless I take care of business here.”

As of now Parker enters this fight against Fa as the heavy betting favorite, so let’s see if he can avoid any pitfalls before he gets to the fights he’s really looking forward to.
