Just hours after its official reveal, Floyd Mayweather’s June 6th exhibition bout with Logan Paul has the beginnings of an undercard. Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix reports that Jean Pascal will face Badou Jack in a rematch of their 2019 title fight, while a clash between former unified super welterweight champ Jarrett Hurd and Luis Arias is “in discussions.”
The 38-year-old Pascal (35-6-1, 20 KO) hasn’t fought since narrowly defeating Jack (23-3-3, 13 KO) in an entertaining back-and-forth battle that saw both men get off the canvas. Pascal, who initially retired after walloping Ahmed Elbiali in 2017, had previously lifted the WBA “world” belt from Marcus Browne via technical decision. Jack, meanwhile, snapped a three-fight winless streak last November by beating Blake McKernan on the Tyson-Jones undercard.
Hurd (24-1, 16 KO) lost both of his titles to Julian Williams in a shocking upset, and though he initially exercised his rematch clause, he ultimately withdrew from the bout and left Williams to get smashed by Jeison Rosario. He was last seen returning to the win column with a one-sided but unspectacular decision over Francisco Santana in January 2020 and looks to have another get-well opponent in Arias (18-2-1, 9 KO), who’s 0-2-1 in his last three.
