Hearn targeting August 7 and 14 as potential dates for Joshua-Fury

Another week has passed and we’ve still yet to receive official confirmation on the undisputed heavyweight title unification between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. Even yesterday Joshua himself took to social media to express some of his frustration that negotiations have continued to linger.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn admits to Sky Sports that Joshua is growing tired of the tedious talks with Fury still yet to formally agree to the remaining terms in the negotiations but Hearn says he’s still hopeful the deal can get over the line within the next several days.

“We’re in a stage where people are getting frustrated. The deal is done. Now we’re on the finer details of the contract, which came back last Friday. It went back last night. They are on calls now in the office about it, and I think at some point people are going to have to take a little bit of a leap of faith in this deal. From our perspective and AJ’s perspective, we’re ready to go. From Tyson Fury’s perspective, they’ve got a couple of lawyers across it from their point.”

Hearn would continue on by saying that so much has been invested in putting this fight together that he really feels the urgency to get it done, acknowledging that all sides have to work collectively to get the deal completely finalized. As of now Hearn is looking to stage the fight in Saudi Arabia on either August 7 or August 14 as Hearn remains positive that we’re on the verge of having the biggest fight in boxing on our hands.
