Dan Rafael has reported the return of rising super welterweight contender Charles “Bad News” Conwell against Mark “The Bazooka” DeLuca on the undercard of Triller Fight Club’s June 19 PPV. Conwell (14-0, 11 KO) was previously scheduled to take on Ivan Golub (19-1, 15 KO) in the main event of Ring City USA’s April 8 fight card, before being forced to withdraw due to a hand injury.
DeLuca (27-2, 15 KO) is a decent opponent for this stage of Conwell’s development, but will rightfully be a big underdog. He lost his one step-up against Kell Brook in decisive fashion, but has since won three fights in a row against lower-level competition.
Conwell is coming off back-to-back stoppages against previously undefeated opponents Wendy Toussaint (12-1, 5 KO) and Madiyar Ashkeyev (14-1, 7 KO), and hopes to continue his success against the more experienced DeLuca.
Highly-regarded prospect Keyshawn Davis (3-0, 2 KO) is also scheduled to make an appearance on the Lopez-Kambosos PPV, a relatively quick turnaround after his win this past weekend on the Canelo-Saunders undercard.
