Weigh-in results: Mayweather 155, Logan Paul 189½

Fighting

Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul are set for Sunday night’s exhibition on Showtime pay-per-view, as the two made weight, or they were announced as having made weight, or whatever. It doesn’t really matter.

Mayweather, 44, came in at 155 lbs even, with the 26-year-old Paul at a fairly predictable 189½, with his upper limit announced at 190 and Mayweather’s at 160 or whatever it was. Again, doesn’t really matter, they could be 152 and 207, or 161 and 194, the exhibition is obviously going to happen.

Perhaps the most surprising thing is there were no last-minute shenanigans in an attempt to draw final pre-fight buzz. No shoving, not even much trash talking. They kinda just went up there, got on the scales, did their short interviews, and on we go to Sunday.

“He’s not ready. He don’t know what to expect. And this is not the biggest fight of my life, this is the biggest fight of his life, he’s got a lot on the line and everything to lose. I’m gonna go in there and have fun,” Paul said.

“The fact that I’m even up here proves this shit is a simulation. None of it is real, the aliens are coming in June, just be ready. Tomorrow, I break the fuckin’ simulation and beat the greatest boxer in the history of the planet.”

“I’ve been here before, so I know what it takes. I’ve fought every different style you can possibly fight. Height don’t win fights, weight don’t win fights, fighting wins fights, and I can fight,” Mayweather said.

The card will also feature another exhibition, with former NFL star wide receiver Chad Johnson going into the ring with Brian Maxwell.

Johnson, 43, weighed in at 179½, with the 33-year-old combat sports journeyman Maxwell (0-1 in boxing, 0-3 in bare knuckle, 2-2 in MMA) at 183½.

“I lost 20 lbs! 20 lbs, man!” Johnson said. “I’m always willing to try stuff. I’m not afraid to fail in front of the world. I might win, I might not. It’s about taking chances and that’s what I’ve been doing all my life.”

Asked what he felt the key to victory would be, he simply said, “Keep your fuckin’ hands up.”

Nobody asked Maxwell any questions.
