Alen Babic Breaks Down, Stops Mark Bennett in Five Rounds

Matchroom Fight Camp, Brentwood – In a heavyweight contest, Alen Babic (8-0, 8 KOs) broke down and stopped Mark Bennett (7-2, 1 KO) in five rounds of action.

As expected, Babic came roaring forward and was throwing big punches. Bennett decided to trade and was rocked badly. Babic went on the attack and was going for the knockout. Bennett was holding and doing whatever possible to weather the storm. Babic was landing heavy punches. Bennett stayed on his feet, but the legs were wobbling.

In the second, Babic went right back to work and was firing the hard combinations. Babic seemed to be looking for a breather, with Bennett starting to land his own punches to force exchanges. During the third, both were landing during exchanges. Babic had the clear edge with more shots connecting. 

In the fourth, Babic was connecting with the majority of the shot. Bennett was having minor spells of success with both looking tired. Babic was doing the majority of the firing in the fifth. He was landing a lot of punches and Bennett continued to stay on his feet, holding when necessary. Bennett looked exhausted, with Babic looking tired as well but he never stopped punching.

At the end of the fifth, Bennett’s corner had seen enough and asked the referee to stop the fight.
