Lopez-Kambosos now may move to Oct. 16 from Oct. 4

Fighting

This is beyond parody. Triller’s Ryan Kavanaugh, appearing on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, claims that he’s now hoping to move Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr from October 4th at Hulu Theater to October 16th at Barclays Center.

Kavanaugh claims it’s an effort to avoid conflicting with the Oakland Raiders vs San Diego Chargers game that evening, which he “just realized” would be an issue. As a consolation prize, the new date would hopefully have a full Verzuz event attached to it.

Depending on how you count it, this is either the seventh or eighth planned date for this event. The notion that Ryan Kavanaugh and Co., who invested $6 million into the purse bid alone, didn’t even bother to consider that they’d be going up against Monday Night Football until two weeks before fight night absolutely boggles the mind and serves as yet more proof that the ability to make money does automatically make someone intelligent.

Hell, I’ve been very clear about how much I enjoy watching carefully laid plans explode in people’s faces and even I don’t think it’s funny anymore.
