Fury: If Joshua Does The Rematch – Usyk Will Stop Him This Time!

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is still having serious doubts that Anthony Joshua will move forward with a contracted rematch against WBO, IBO, WBA, IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Last September, Joshua outboxed Usyk over twelve rounds to capture the unified crown at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The British star exercised an immediate rematch clause in the aftermath.

Fury is going to make a mandatory defense of his title against domestic rival Dillian Whyte, with April 23 as the target date at Wembley Stadium.

The ‘Gypsy King’ believes Joshua will move in another direction – without Usyk in the other corner.

And if the rematch does come off – Fury is backing Usyk to come away with another win – and this time the victory will come by knockout.

“I personally don’t think it happens because Joshua doesn’t want it and two if it does happen, which it won’t, I think Usyk stops him this time,” Fury told IFL TV.

“You heard it here first, and I rarely get them [predictions] wrong to be fair, rarely. By the way, Eddie [Hearn] I see all the stuff you say about me not wanting to fight Usyk. Get your man to fight him and get that big L [loss] again, please. Prove me, wrong dosser, you work for me.”

According to Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, the rematch with Usyk is going to land on a date in the month of May.

“It’s clear AJ will be fighting Usyk, which is his preferred choice. May is when you’ll see that fight. There’s the UK, America, the Middle East – we’ve had offers all around the world for that fight. I’d like to do it in the UK and we’ll see,” Hearn told BBC.
