The Nicaraguan was originally set to face Juan Francisco Estrada in a much-anticipated trilogy fight, but after Estrada was forced to pull out of the fight after testing positive for COVID-19, the young Mexican flyweight MARTINEZ stepped up to take on a mouth-watering fight for boxing fans.
CHOCOLATITO looks to bounce back from his last fight, having been edged to a decision by old foe Estrada in what many called fight of the year in 2021. Reigning WBC flyweight champion MARTINEZ will move up a weight class on Saturday night as when he takes on the former four-weight world champion.
The Mexican flyweight star will be looking to make a statement at the weekend, with many seeing this as a big step up after a No Contest result against McWilliams Arroyo back in November 2021.
