Big heavyweight Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (25-0-1) hits the road and is lined up to fight in the Tanzanian capital of Dar-es- Salam, on the date of November 4, against Awadh “Big Brother” Tamim, who resides in Stockholm, Sweden, but is from Tanzania.
BoxRec lists Tamim’s record as 15-5 but the early part of it with fights in Yemen and Lebanon is highly questionable.
However, in his last fight he won the vacant World Boxing Foundation international heavyweight title when he knocked out local hero Shkelgim Ademaj (7-3).
Tamim has also fought in K-1 and is a dangerous puncher – but also a bit fragile as seen by his knockout losses to Bogdan Dinu and Marios Kollias.
IN OTHER NEWS: Former world champion Heather “The Heat” Hardy defeated Calista Silgado in the main event of a five-bout card stacked with local boxers on her return to the boxing ring on Thursday, October 13, at Sony Hall, in the heart of Times Square, mid-town Manhattan.
It was Hardy’s first fight since May of last year. And her first win since a decision win over Shelly Vincent in 2018.
Hardy stated afterwards: “Silgado is a veteran who has fought everybody. I expected this kind of fight, and I prepared for it. I had a lot of rust to shake off.
“I’m going to take the weekend to unpack the emotions surrounding the fight. It was lot to digest, being my first one with a new team, my first one since turning 40 and my first one with no kid at home. I have decisions to make moving forward but they can wait until Monday.”
